The process sounds scarier than it is, trust us. It’ll go something like this:

• You reach out for an estimate

• We chat to figure out what your end goal is and how we can make that happen

• You submit a signed contract and retainer fee.

• We do some research and prep. This includes obtaining deeds, any prior survey information, and county/township information.

• We show up on site and do our thing. Most clients do not meet us on site unless requested or inclined.

• We bring the data back and create the map.

• If any applications or maps need to be approved by the Township or County, we’ll handle that too.

• Once approved, the maps are filed with the County.

• You will be invoiced for the remaining balance.

This various by project. Preferably before you start the process of buying/selling/building. In our busy season, we can be booking out 4-6 weeks, so it’s best to get the process started as early as possible.

If your parcel includes lots of wetland/swamp, winter is the most preferred time of the year.

Once we receive your contract and retainer, we will put your project on our schedule. The timeframe for on-site work varies depending on the season, but expect 2-3 weeks average, and 4-6 weeks during peak months.

Once site work has been completed, mapping is usually completed within 2 weeks.

If your township requires approval, it will take one-to-two City Council meetings (they’re usually monthly).

County approval is usually processed within 5 business days.

When completing surveys, Wisconsin requires a physical monument be set flush with the ground. Meaning; there will be a pipe/rebar under the ground which you can locate with a metal detector. We will also put a fencepost and bright pink tape next to the monument for an easy visual.
